Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining Active Cypher, Mike was a GM/VP at Microsoft formed the Enterprise Cybersecurity Group (ECG). Mike’s team provided technical selling expertise and a central vision on Cybersecurity for clients and internally with engineering.
Prior to Microsoft, Mike served as a Senior VP with Cisco, where he was responsible for client cybersecurity architecture, Risk and Incident Management, and leading hyperscale and hybrid client engineering and architectures for various cloud providers.
Mike served in the United States Marine Corps and with the Central Intelligence Agency. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in International Studies.
Executive Chairman & Co-Founder
President of Active Cypher’s founding executive team, Greg Morrell oversees the execution of various milestones related to sales, marketing, product development, and team formation. He also administers financial aspects of the company.
By leveraging on his expertise from his successful career stints in diverse industries, Greg positively and competently solidifies Active Cypher’s success trajectory right from the product planning stage to customer experience.
CTO & Co-Founder
Dan is the chief architect and product developer of Active Cypher’s file-level security solution.
His special skills are in bringing elegant solutions to complex problems. His focus is building scalable business automation offerings that converge business goals with technology to provide optimum workflow, resource productivity, product quality, risk control and enhanced security.
Dan’s special expertise lies in all Microsoft products and programs, with a focus on financial companies, data design & analysis and process improvement. Dan has worked with a wide array of companies for development and consultation.
Co-Founder & Corporate Secretar
John Johnson is Co-Founder and Corporate Secretary of Active Cypher. He has over 35 years of experience in management, sales, marketing and operations in the telecommunications industry.
Before joining with Greg Morrell to launch Active Cypher, Johnson owned a business consulting practice. A few of his clients included the ‘88 Seoul Olympics and the ‘90 Italian World Cup. Later he engaged with On Call Communications, a transportable satellite company, to furnish communications to the USMC/USAF for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and for several of GHW Bush’s White House trips overseas. Prior to his starting a consulting practice, he served as the AT&T/PT&T Marketing Director for the ‘84 Los Angeles Olympics, a five and a half year, $60M project from which he launched PacTel Cellular (later to become Verizon Wireless) to market and for use in the Games.
Johnson served on the Board of Directors of Methodist Hospital of Southern California. He has a BA in Political Science and a MPA in Public Administration from the USC Price School of Public Policy.

Erik is the first reseller of Active Cypher products outside the US.
His excellent global leadership, change and project management expertise in large complex program, gave him great view of the global market. Many years working very closely with top partners globally and now focusing on the European market is what bought him here.

Frank Van Steenwinkel
Frank has more than 20 years of international management experience at Cisco. Frank was leading the Cisco Technical Assistant Center (TAC) in Europe for more than 10 years as Senior Director. Frank is a certified Data Protection Officer and Cybersecurity expert.
Frank is very result-oriented and stress resistant and has a no-nonsense back to basics approach. Frank has already performed a huge number of security audits and assists C-level executives to bring cybersecurity at the board level.
